Cadbury are joining Age UK to fight loneliness

1.4 million older people in the UK struggle with loneliness. 225,000 often go a week without speaking to anyone. Cadbury donated the words from their Dairy Milk bars to help, and hundreds of thousands of people joined them in donating their words too.

“Just a few words can make all the difference to somebody...”

Those are the words of footballer Brandon Williams, whose team Manchester United have joined Cadbury’s Donate Your Words campaign to help lonely older people.

No one should be left behind

As lockdown lifts, you can help us make sure vulnerable older people aren't forgotten. Donate today to help Age UK open doors for our older generation.

How you can help

Call an older relative

Pick up the phone and give your nan, your uncle or an older friend a ring! Even a 5 minute chat can make a difference.

Volunteer with Age UK

Join Age UK as a volunteer and start making a lasting difference to the lives of older people in your community.

Other ways to get involved

Age UK is the UK's leading charity for older people. We're determined that no older person should have no one to turn to, but it's only possible with the support of people like you.

As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to be able to make sure older people have someone to turn to in the toughest times. A donation today could help us be there whenever an older person needs us.

Age UK and Cadbury - working together to tackle loneliness

For every limited edition bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk sold, Cadbury donated 30p to Age UK. This helped us support older people through our national advice line, telephone friendship service and more.
