Free Wills Month

During Free Wills Month, you can have a will written or updated for free with a participating solicitor. The next Free Wills Month is in March 2019.

Thinking about making a will?

Having a will makes sure your loved ones are looked after. It's important for your peace of mind, too.

Our free guide tells you everything you need to know about making a will, with step-by-step advice to make the process as simple as possible.

What is Free Wills Month?

In Free Wills Month we, along with other national charities, offer anyone aged 55 or over the opportunity to have a simple will written or updated free of charge by a participating solicitor.

An up-to-date will written by a solicitor is the best way to ensure your wishes will be respected. It allows you to provide for your family and friends and leave a gift to your chosen charities too.

By being part of this campaign we hope you'll consider supporting Age UK with a gift in your will, although there's no obligation to do so.

The campaign pays for simple wills. If the will is more complex and needs additional work, the solicitor may ask you to pay the balance yourself. It's best to check this when booking your appointment in March.

Who is the campaign open to?

Free Wills Month is intended for individuals or couples aged 55 and over. If you're making your will as a couple, only one of you needs to be over 55.

How do I take part?

From 1 March, you can visit the Free Wills Month website to see if there are participating solicitors in your area and to find out more about booking an appointment.

The campaign is very popular so we recommend booking an appointment as soon as you can in March.

Your gift could leave a world less lonely

If you decide to take part in the campaign, there's no obligation to include a gift to Age UK in your will. However, we'd be extremely grateful if, after taking care of your loved ones, you could consider remembering us in this way.

Without the kind gifts that supporters like you leave us in their will, we simply couldn't be there for all the older people who need us.
