How every Age UK Weekly Lottery and Raffle entry helps

By playing the Age UK Weekly Lottery and Age UK Raffle, you're helping us be there for older people when they need us most. 

The money you've helped raise by playing has enabled us to fund a variety of services for older people. With your support, we've helped to raise £59.3* million since 2005. From free transport to lunch clubs, information and advice to research, you're helping us support older people across the UK.

Where the money goes

Our lottery raises money to support information and advice services and our education and research programmes. Our lottery and raffle players also help to fund essential local programmes. Find out more below.

By playing our lottery or raffle, you'll help our network of over 125 local Age UKs deliver services and social activities to their communities - from quizzes and coffee mornings to exercise classes and computer skills.

Information and advice


Playing the Age UK Weekly Lottery helps older people get expert information and advice, whenever they need it. Your support helps to fund the Age UK Advice Line, open 365 days a year, as well as our suite of free information guides and factsheets, and local advice drop-in sessions.

Education and research


By playing the Age UK Weekly Lottery, you help us better understand and tackle to the big issues affecting older people. Through our research and analysis we campaign, educate and influence public policy and stand up for older people across a range of issues, from unequal legislation to health and social care.

The three subsidiary companies, all registered at 7th Floor, One America Square, 17 Crosswall, London, EC3N 2LB, and also known as ‘Promoters’, are each licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission (

  • Age UK Information and Advice Lottery CIC Registered Company No.11335248, is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 52373; provides funding for information, advice and related services provided by Age UK and local Age UKs for older people in the UK.
  • Age UK Local Programmes Lottery CIC Registered Company No.11335613, is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 52413; provides funding for local programmes to assist older people – i.e. the work of local Age UKs.
  • Age UK Education and Research Lottery CIC Registered Company No.11372685, is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 52417; provides funding for research activities that advance education in relation to issues affecting older people in the UK.

£1 per entry. You must be 18 or over to enter. Entries not to be sold to or by anyone under 18 years of age. All proceeds from the Age UK Weekly Lottery go to the relevant Promoter and all profits are donated to Age UK.

All the money from each Lottery ticket goes to that months designated area of support (Information and Advice, Local Programmes and Education and Research) the Age UK Charity then allocates the profits from these lotteries against that months area of support.

The % of proceeds raised and declared as profit from each of the society lotteries promoted in 2020 by each of the three subsidiaries and the likelihood of winning a prize, can be found on the Society Lotteries web page.
