National Falls Prevention Taskforce Wales

Age Cymru has a long-standing history of working with partners across all sectors and nations to address the health issue of falling over in later life or ‘falls’ as it’s often called.

Chaired by Age Cymru, and Deputy Chaired by Care & Repair Cymru , the National Falls Prevention Taskforce Wales is a collaborative multi-disciplinary and multi-agency group, comprising of representatives from all seven health boards, national and local government, public, private and third sector organisations.

The impact of falling over is huge for the individual, family, friends, neighbours, and the health service. Together we’re working to change the way we think about later life and ‘falls’ or falling over, and challenge the long-standing myth that falls are an inevitable part of getting older. We strive for older people to live active and independent lives free from falling over.
