About Page Turners book club

What do I/we get for joining Page Turners?

In return for £11.99 (single subscription) or £19.99 (dual subscription) monthly payment, you’ll get:

  • The chance to vote on a selection of brilliant books each month
  • A copy of the winning book in the post at the end of each month
  • Book club questions and other exclusive content from the authors of the books
  • An online community you can share your reading experience with
  • Stories of the older people you’re supporting with your subscription.

Top of section

Can I/we choose what book we get?

We select the books you get to vote on every month. From there, the book with the highest number of votes is selected – everyone gets the same book. Even if your preferred option doesn’t win, we think you’ll love them all – and it’s a great opportunity to explore something you might not otherwise have tried.

Top of section

What kind of books will I/we receive?

We select books for you to vote from each month on a chosen theme. This might be seasonal, or inspired by a particular topic, new release, or author. As this is a new service, we’ll start listing the winning books here each month when we’ve sent them out, so you can see what other Page Turners have enjoyed.

Top of section

How do I/we vote on the next book?

Around the 15th of every month, you’ll be sent an email asking you to vote for your favourite from a carefully selected shortlist, and you’ll have a week to vote. The book with the most votes will be announced one week later, and will be sent to your address(es) three weeks after that.

If your first payment is made after the 22nd, you will not be eligible to receive the book that is due to be delivered by the middle of the following month. You will receive your first book in the middle of the month after that one, and you will be able to vote on it.

Top of section

Can I/we nominate a book for future months?

Yes! Please contact us at pageturners@ageuk.org.uk to share your nomination. While we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to offer it, we love to hear about the books you’ve loved – and it gives us more inspiration for other books you might enjoy for future shortlists, too.

Top of section

What should I do with my books once I've read them?

Why not increase your support for older people and donate it to your local Age UK charity shop? You could also share it with another friend, start a free library in your community or list it on eBay.

Top of section

What if I’ve already read the winning book?

If you already own the winning book and don’t want another copy, we hope you will consider re-gifting or donating it as you see fit. If you don’t want to receive the book at all, please email us at pageturners@ageuk.org.uk to cancel your book delivery before the 3rd of the month in which it is due to be delivered. After this date, it’ll already be on its way!

Top of section

Are your books available in large print for those with sight impairment?

Unfortunately we’re not able to offer large print versions of the books at this stage. We are hoping to offer this in the future.

Top of section

Can I buy a gift membership for someone else?

Yes, by selecting the ‘dual subscription’ option when you sign up. You will be able to provide the name and address details required here alongside your own, and your loved one will start receiving the books in the post each month at the same time as you.
