Age UK's position on the WASPI Campaign
We're supportive of the WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality) Campaign and their efforts to draw attention to the situation they find themselves in. We’re really sympathetic to those women who have been badly treated by changes to the state pension – we lobbied hard against these reforms.
Age UK has long campaigned for a fairer pensions system with a particular focus on groups who are poorly treated by the current system, such as women, carers, people with disabilities and people from BAME communities.
The WASPI campaign and other groups do a great job highlighting this issue and we're continuing to press for better support for the many women affected.
